Hot off the Press - an in no way endorsing advertorial of a certain politician is published during the 2014 Election Campaign season... coincidental? Maybe, but as well as the story inside, Rugby News Magazine has a picture on the cover of an All Black jersey posing and apparent "Pack Leader" - "John Key - #1 All Blacks Supporter". This weekly published Rugby news magazine is full of relevant news and articles to do with our National Sport... or is that now National Support? Did the Editor stop for a second to think that splattering this impostor on the cover wouldn't be viewed as political? The NZ Rugby Union certainly did, as they requested that a small disclaimer be added in the magazine that Mr Key leading the pack wearing an All Blacks jersey was not an endorsement - it was photoshopped. Then soon after the launch of the issue, the Rugby News Editor felt it necessary to justify his reasons/excuses as to why he put the PM on the cover. But he shouldn't be surprised about all the adverse reactions to the publication - it's all part of the game of political opinions! Disclaimer: My version of the cover definitely isn't an endorsement of Mr Key leading the pack wearing an All Reds Jersey - it was photoshopped too. PS: I tried Blue Jerseys but they sucked! John Key continues to drag New Zealand on the path to "A Brighter Future". Yeah Right! It's not the kind of future I want. His future is one under the control of "The Ultimate Evil" - whose orders JK follows enthusiastically, like the good little Poodle he is. Who "THe Ultimate Evil" is, is another story.
But one piece of supporting evidence for this is that he has been getting pretty cozy with the U.S. President as of late. I mean what is your real business over there JK when you're visiting Mr. Obama at the White House and playing golfing buddies? It's rather embarrassing watching you kiss up to a warmongering, financially destitute country like the US. But So as usual you will keep your real business a secret and we will find out when it's too late... right? Same old story. But there may be some good news - the Yanks are allowing our Navy boys to now dock our ships with the rest of the recent War Games players in Honolulu and that means we may no longer be little outcasts!... but you won't see me cheering. If you remember (not bloody likely) back in 1984 New Zealand barred all Nuclear Powered and Nuclear Armed Ships from entering our waters including those types of ships from the United States. Yes, New Zealand declared itself a Nuclear-Free Zone and that is what we will always cheer for! The pathway to peace. But we are being dragged along your path Jk and when the time comes it will be interesting to see how you show Mr. Obama your appreciation. Will you let their Nuclear Warships back in? It won't really surprise me if you attempt this soon. But not before the election aye JK? So try to remember this Prime Minister of "Brain Fades", New Zealand has a right to determine its own future, so stop shoveling us yours. Felloffasofa. Simon's latest invitation for oil exploration in New Zealand waters is this time into the critically endangered Maui Dolphin Sanctuary of the West Coast of the North Island. He even had the Conservation Minister supporting the venture in Cabinet at Question Time. The Sanctuary is there for a reason fools. In Tauranga on Saturday, hundreds of protesters marched to his electoral office to make it clear that this is another bad idea. Simon made sure he wasn't going to be there to receive them. Nice to see you can run and hide when threatened Simon - hard luck for the Maui Dolphins though. Felloffasofa Former Mayor of Auckland the "Dishonorable" John Banks has recently been found guilty of knowingly filing a false electoral return... and the man is still protesting his innocence. Poor John! We must all realise now that he is a corrupt little man and he should do the right thing and disappear himself from the political arena. Move to Australia mate! The only reason he's hanging on as an MP has to be so he can continue to receive his large taxpayer funded salary. I can't wait for it to be cut off. Can you believe we're still paying this crim! Good luck August 1st with sentencing JB. You still have a chance to weasel out of any punishment and you could even keep your job as an MP. Either way you're name is mud. Felloffasofa I was going to post strictly about the new CCTV program the National Party is about to roll out in New Zealand, and the implications again, of more government invasion of our privacy. But as "The Automaton" image above progressed my thoughts on its design focused on something bigger. The image evolved to encompass a collection of issues of which I believe, are leading this country somewhere we all should know that we shouldn't really be going.
Us Kiwis are aware of the accelerating encroachment of government into our private lives. It's called Totalitarianism. And when these issues are brought up in conversation amongst ourselves I find that most Kiwis are eager to quickly shut them down or dismiss the importance. It's a little disheartening to witness your friends and family acting like mini Automatons themselves, when they run and hide their eyes and hope it all might go away. But you can't run and hide forever - you are being surrounded. And CCTV will see to that soon as it logs your face, your location and the time you were there into a national database every second that you are walking down the city street. The funny thing is we will be paying for this spy system! As I see it if the rights and interests of the New Zealand People are being overridden by our own Prime Minister then he is nothing but an agent for foreign interests. A clue to who this may be is in the US and the UK because these oppressive programs are running there already - and look at the sorry state of the society in those countries. Thankfully I do have a little grin on my face as I come away thinking that at least people are aware of the issues. Because while John Key and the National Party "roll the dice" and edge us towards what looks like the point of no return I know there will always be another point. Kiwis are aware of how you and your cronies operate Mr Automaton. So let's hope it is a turning point that comes at the end of this year with a new Government. Felloffasofa The Christchurch rebuild has had a 3 year bout of Christchurch City Council Constipation and by looking at the gutted state of the Christchurch's CBD don't expect any great improvements any time soon. To add to this stagnancy the residential suburbs of Christchurch are not faring much better.
But wait... how about the CCC's proposal to build a $400 Million Stadium?!... that'll improve the situation. And it will only take Gerry Brownlee the Minister in charge of the Christchurch Earthquake Recovery's signature to get this project off the ground. This is a well thought out plan because as we all know building stadiums is one of the top priorities in all Disaster Recovery Programs. So Gerry's list must go something like this: Take Scenic Flight over City Turn Power On Drop off Port-a-loos Start Demolition of half the CBD Build a group of Shops made from Shipping Containers Build a mini Town Square made from Wooden Pallets Build a Cathedral made from Cardboard Approve Plan to Build $400 Million Dollar Stadium Finish Demolition of half the CBD Repair Rail Network Repair Roads Repair Sewer System Repair Residential Housing Repair Schools Repair Hospitals 3 Years on Commission Report on why the recovery plan is not working Blame it on somebody else....... Is this really what Christchurch needs right now? I think there are more important things to focus on and I doubt the people of Christchurch have much cash left over to even go watch the ruggers as they continue to pay to rebuild their lives. This is a luxury they just can't afford. But like flies to a Brownlee BBQ some big NGOs will be salivating to bite into this dirty great construction contract and the CCC and GB will be happy to give it to them. The Christchurch people need their houses, streets, services fixed and the port-a-loos removed first Gerry... but you seem quite comfy going on this one. Felloffasofa. PS: Keep an eye on that Kordamentha crowd who were contracted to make the Report on the CCCs Recovery Spending - they're an NGO in themselves and making millions off this and other government debacles. Yet another reason we are ruled by a kleptocracy.
Kleptocracy, alternatively cleptocracy or kleptarchy, (from Greek: κλέπτης - kleptēs, "thief"[1] and κράτος - kratos, "power, rule",[2] hence "rule by thieves") is a form of political and government corruption where the government exists to increase the personal wealth and political power of its officials and the ruling class at the expense of the wider population, often with pretense of honest service. This type of government corruption is often achieved by the embezzlement of state funds. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Simon confessed - he didn't realise he was opening up protected New Zealand Land including 96% of Pureora Forest Park, a forest which is described by the Department of Conservation as “a hidden wonderland of tall trees, clear rivers and rare wildlife”. Now that Simon knows this fact will he cancel his little Block Offer?... No - he is now inviting applications for exploratory mining. Just another National Sell Out! Felloffasofa Well for the last few weeks this lady has been in the news here in NZ. Justice Minister Judith "Crusher" Collins an MP of the National Party is trying to "staunch" her way out of a smelly little situation. Apparently it seems she has "Popped In" to see the Oravida folk in China, met with a Chinese border Official, endorsed a milk product of a company that her Husband is a Director, bumbled her way through excuses as to why she went to China on a Tax Payer funded trip when her Ministerial Portfolios do not require her to visit China. Conflict of Interest? As far as I'm aware she hasn't stated her official business there, so what else could it be?
To make the story even more interesting the New Zealand Prime Minister, John Key has played golf with Oravida Company Directors on a number of occasions and Oravida has slipped tens of thousands of dollars into the National Party's back pocket... as all good golfing buddies do?! So don't be surprised if no action is taken by the PM even though the NZ Cabinet Manual states clearly that conflicts of Interest are not allowed - there's more golf and donations to be had - what's more important people! By the way Judith goes by the nickname "Crusher" because of her hard exterior attitude and behavior when dealing with her political opposition... more like a crusher of all the virtues required from a person in her position. Be Good! Felloffasofa How long will our Government ignore the New Zealand People's wishes while stripping away our rights to privacy. There are some rotten eggs representing us and herding us into a "Darker" Future. Not Brighter.
I was amazed that our Minister of Defence's only comment about the United States spying on it's Allies' Leaders and Citizen's was that New Zealand has nothing to worry about because we're so insignificant and there's nothing going on here - New Zealand is boring.... he may be right but you don't look good kissing American butt JC - plain and simple. What Jonathan didn't say is what he thought of the accused actions of the U.S. intelligence agency's activities. What would his answer be "Spying on Allies is bad - bad form USA!" but no his lips were busy somewhere else. No fear! Felloffasofa. |
