A Tribute to Penny Bright - “Her Warship” as she liked to call herself. She Was a real Guardian for the rights of the people of Auckland - right to the end. I was glad to help her a little on the designs of some of her banners - she used them as powerful messages during her activism and now I depict them as the powerful sails that drives her ship around the Waitemata Harbour.
Go well Penny. Felloffasofa

I'd like to know the reason why the Ardern/Labour Government is mass poisoning our waterways with 1080 - a deadly chemical agent. Dumping this stuff right into our drinking water catchment areas. They will continue to do so for at least another 35 years. Killing our land and water dwelling wildlife (a food source to a lot of people) and poisoning our water. The carelessness for the well being of New Zealander's shows there is a sickness in our leadership. They're either doing all they can to protect the people and anything else says to me they don't care about the people. Let's see how far they go with this mass extermination program.
It's been a while and a lot has happened since September last year both in the news and at home.
I start the year with look at Len Brown and his continuing ramp up of Auckland Rate payments. With the Auckland housing marketing on the boil and house values skyrocketing by an average of about $10,000 per month, Len has a sneaky little plan to make a grab for Home owner money based on the increase in the house value. Of course this is just one big excuse to basically reach into the home owners pocket and take some more cash and from this he can buy his wee central city rail link… which no one wants or needs. The worst things for Aucklanders about this scam is: 1) There's almost no way to avoid it 2) The increase in expense could be up tp 40% depending on where you live 3) The Tax is based on house value and does not take into account that the earnings of the rate payer has not increased. Len Brown and the Council Gravy Train Riders are showing themselves as arrogant once again. Lucky we have people we can support such as Penny Bright who is fighting for transparency in Local Council spending. Good luck for the year. Felloffasofa |
