Simon's latest invitation for oil exploration in New Zealand waters is this time into the critically endangered Maui Dolphin Sanctuary of the West Coast of the North Island. He even had the Conservation Minister supporting the venture in Cabinet at Question Time. The Sanctuary is there for a reason fools.
In Tauranga on Saturday, hundreds of protesters marched to his electoral office to make it clear that this is another bad idea. Simon made sure he wasn't going to be there to receive them. Nice to see you can run and hide when threatened Simon - hard luck for the Maui Dolphins though.
Yet another reason we are ruled by a kleptocracy.
Kleptocracy, alternatively cleptocracy or kleptarchy, (from Greek: κλέπτης - kleptēs, "thief" and κράτος - kratos, "power, rule", hence "rule by thieves") is a form of political and government corruption where the government exists to increase the personal wealth and political power of its officials and the ruling class at the expense of the wider population, often with pretense of honest service. This type of government corruption is often achieved by the embezzlement of state funds.

Simon confessed - he didn't realise he was opening up protected New Zealand Land including 96% of Pureora Forest Park, a forest which is described by the Department of Conservation as “a hidden wonderland of tall trees, clear rivers and rare wildlife”.
Now that Simon knows this fact will he cancel his little Block Offer?...
No - he is now inviting applications for exploratory mining.
Just another National Sell Out!
