It's party time for National as New Zealand's overseas debt reached an astounding $100 Billion Dollars this year and in the process have delivered 7 budget deficits in a row since 2008 (that's every year this term). Amazing when you think that only 7 years ago NZ's overseas debt was less than $20 Billion.
That's right, it is 5 TIMES GREATER now. In response the Politicians with their mainstream media repeaters will calmly spew out the same "NZ has a Rockstar economy" story and most of the NZ Public will believe it - so no worries! But, what does "Rockstar Economy" actually mean? Sounds like some fancy-schamancy financy term aye? Well let's try it another way: "How's your mortgage? "Really good mate! I have a Rockstar mortgage!" Doesn't mean anything bro. Felloffasofa The irony. The National Party have been caught up in a copyright lawsuit over using the opening chords of an Eminem song on probably what is the main National 2014 election TV Commercial. You know, the one with a bunch of young, fit athletes in a canoe powering down the "8 Mile" creek to an unknown destination.
A "picture" of stable, decisive government in action right? But hang on! Let's get a little more realistic about the stability of the current government. What we need to remember is there are actual National Party members rowing this boat. Let's announce the team... John Key as the cox barking orders at a sweated out Gerry Brownlee who's experienced in rocking the boat in the Avon, Maurice Williams quits after being caught influencing the race officials, Tony Ryall bails out into retirement, Paula Bennet is busy knocking the heads of the poor fish, Hekia Parata has her oars tangled up in Novopay, Nick "the DOCtator" Smith dropping Big Oil exploration rigs into endangered Dolphin sanctuaries and Bill English as Head of the O.I.O. is busy christening the creek the Yangste. Then to top it all off during the last mile Judith Collins is finally shoved out because at the other end of the boat she has been steering the boat deep into dirty waters with the help of a slimy little Blogger Whale! Powering ahead or floundering in the mud? Maybe there's a picture here? Anyway back to the story - the Nats are pleading innocent and that the song's license as been purchased legitimately. I suppose the artist's representatives are so uncomfortable with being connected artistically to this Political campaign or this Political Group that they feel within their rights to object to the association. So if ever there is an outcome of a court case or if anything comes of the lawsuit and the campaign promo is found to have breached copyright laws then we'd expect a suitable penalty. A substantial fine maybe? Nah, how about we show some consistency and raid their homes with a 70-odd, heavily armed force, seize there business assets, take their personal possessions, put them in holding cells for 2 months, break up their families and serve them with pending extradition orders. It was ok to do this to Kim Dotcom - a New Zealand Resident by using an admittedly and illegally obtained warrant. Fair is fair! But let us and the Media focus too much on this - "It's just not the same" the honorable John Shady will lyricise. He would know... Operation Speargun Phase One is complete. Felloffasofa How's this for a great incentive to give your 2014 vote to National. A proposed $500 Million pool of cash put aside and returned to taxpayers! Tax break time - yeah!
Now that looks like a deliciously sweet little carrot jingling in front of us right?... wrong! When you break down the numbers it works out that the average NZ wage earner would receive $1.30 back in their hand a day! Is this supposed to be an election bribe? Pretty feeble attempt if so. Most Kiwi's have already voiced there opinions saying that this small amount would not make a difference to their day to day living and expenses and this money would be better spent where it is needed, on Education, Health. Basically, this offer is an irresponsible way to waste government funds as the recent surplus was only wafer thin and with NZ's overseas debt swiftly closing in on $100 Billion. But there's more - it won't happen until 2017 and even then nothing is promised - if the economy isn't rocking in 3 years then this carrot goes straight in the trash. Nice try National - but we ain't biting. Felloffasofa The Joker (aka Judith Collins) is on the loose!! ... after resigning (pushed) from her ministerial position yesterday. She has had plenty of chances - too many if you ask 63% of New Zealanders - but her luck has finally run out with one revealing email authored by none other than Judith's good friend Cameron Slater at the centre.
After reading the email John Key has kicked her to touch with no promises of returning to a National Cabinet even if they return to power in September. When you're back on your goal line with the opposition on full attack and gaining ground you need to relieve the pressure the safest way... or is this desperation? The reason given for her dismissal is that the email implicates the "Joker" in a possible attempt to undermine the position of the head of NZ's Serious Fraud Office when Judith was his Boss - not a good look for the National campaign at this time. There is a lot more juice to squeeze from this story - like who obtained and delivered the email to John Key's Office and how did they obtain it if not hacked illegally? Why is John Key acting on this unproven and anonymously provided email and not the numerous other damning emails revealed in Nicky Hagar's book "Dirty Politics"? Who is the "Mark" recipient in the email whose last name was blacked? Some in the Media have mentioned that this "Mark" could be tied to the SFO investigation into the now collapsed Hannover Finance Company where thousands of New Zealanders lost huge investments. Also iPredict stock is mentioned at the bottom of the email and on the iPredict website you can create real money trades on political events - which could potentially give rise to insider trading - not just money but could Public Official's positions be traded for cash if you had inside knowledge? Not a whole lot of money is traded usually but some Political Parties use the iPredict numbers when announcing polls. So this too could potentially be manipulated with cash injections. At the end of the day Judith was gone and this story - a lot juicier! Felloffasofa In the news since the release of Nicky Hagar's book titled "Dirty Politics" is this alleged "Political Slimer". I always wondered who Cameron Slater was getting his information from - he always seemed to be ahead of the game.
His Daddy was the National Party President who head hunted John Key to join the National Party in the late 90's - now John Key is in charge of the SIS Intelligence and GSCB Spying agencies. It's making sense to me. We'll see if any of Nicky's revelations in the book stick... don't hold your breath. Felloffasofa Hot off the Press - an in no way endorsing advertorial of a certain politician is published during the 2014 Election Campaign season... coincidental? Maybe, but as well as the story inside, Rugby News Magazine has a picture on the cover of an All Black jersey posing and apparent "Pack Leader" - "John Key - #1 All Blacks Supporter". This weekly published Rugby news magazine is full of relevant news and articles to do with our National Sport... or is that now National Support? Did the Editor stop for a second to think that splattering this impostor on the cover wouldn't be viewed as political? The NZ Rugby Union certainly did, as they requested that a small disclaimer be added in the magazine that Mr Key leading the pack wearing an All Blacks jersey was not an endorsement - it was photoshopped. Then soon after the launch of the issue, the Rugby News Editor felt it necessary to justify his reasons/excuses as to why he put the PM on the cover. But he shouldn't be surprised about all the adverse reactions to the publication - it's all part of the game of political opinions! Disclaimer: My version of the cover definitely isn't an endorsement of Mr Key leading the pack wearing an All Reds Jersey - it was photoshopped too. PS: I tried Blue Jerseys but they sucked! Felloffasofa John Key continues to drag New Zealand on the path to "A Brighter Future". Yeah Right! It's not the kind of future I want. His future is one under the control of "The Ultimate Evil" - whose orders JK follows enthusiastically, like the good little Poodle he is. Who "THe Ultimate Evil" is, is another story.
But one piece of supporting evidence for this is that he has been getting pretty cozy with the U.S. President as of late. I mean what is your real business over there JK when you're visiting Mr. Obama at the White House and playing golfing buddies? It's rather embarrassing watching you kiss up to a warmongering, financially destitute country like the US. But So as usual you will keep your real business a secret and we will find out when it's too late... right? Same old story. But there may be some good news - the Yanks are allowing our Navy boys to now dock our ships with the rest of the recent War Games players in Honolulu and that means we may no longer be little outcasts!... but you won't see me cheering. If you remember (not bloody likely) back in 1984 New Zealand barred all Nuclear Powered and Nuclear Armed Ships from entering our waters including those types of ships from the United States. Yes, New Zealand declared itself a Nuclear-Free Zone and that is what we will always cheer for! The pathway to peace. But we are being dragged along your path Jk and when the time comes it will be interesting to see how you show Mr. Obama your appreciation. Will you let their Nuclear Warships back in? It won't really surprise me if you attempt this soon. But not before the election aye JK? So try to remember this Prime Minister of "Brain Fades", New Zealand has a right to determine its own future, so stop shoveling us yours. Felloffasofa. |
